Vertex is the third episode of the fisrt season of Ben 10: Aliens Unleashed.
Synopsis[]
Ben, Kevin, and Gwen are battling Trombipulor, who seems to have been equipped with powerful Plumber Tech Armor. Ben, as Teleportal, manages to apprehend Trombipulor and send him to the Plumbers. However, a mysterious masked character named Triad apprehends Ben and attempts to destroy his Ultimatrix. Ben defends himself from Triad as Bigchill 2.0. Triad warns of a great evil that will attempt to harm Ben. Triad then disappears, but Kevin's badge confirms he is still on Earth. While Ben and company are searching for Triad, the Lucubra attacks them. The Lucubra is equipped with armor just like Trombipulor's. It has a "V" insignia on it. Ben finds the Lucubra to be very weak, and defated easily by Kevin, Gwen, and Ben as Metallo. Then, a being appears that seems to be the same species as Eon. It too is wearing the "V" insignia on his own separate armor. He introduces himself as Vertex, and says that the Lucubra and Trombipulor are two of his many slaves. Ben, Gwen, and Kevin learn that he has Trombipulor and the Lucubra's powers, and Vertex easily knocks out Gwen. Ben becomes Wildmutt 2.0, Shocksquatch, and then Overflow, all of which are unable to defeat Vertex, who seems to have thousands of powers. Finally, Ben becomes Clockwork. Vertex screams in agony before Clockwork even does anything, and with a vengeful cry, Vertex and the Lucubra vanish, and Gwen comes to. Kevin is fearful, as he says he detected the powers of Aggreggor and Ragnarok. Ben and company disperse, and that night, Kevin is mulling over a photo of him and his dad, saying, "What really hapened, Dad?" Also, Triad is seen hopping around Kevin's neighbourhood, and when he removes his mask, it is Argit, and he is wearing the same armor as Trombipulor and the Lucubra.

Trivia[]
- The episode was called Vertex originally so it could be centered around Teleportal, and his ability to create portals (or vortexes), but was changed when the main series villain was decided to be Vertex.
- It is unknown whether or not Argit is working for Vertex, as he warned Ben about Vertex first (granted, he tried to destroy the Ultimatrix), but he also is wearing the same armor as the Lucubra and Trombipulor, Vertex's slaves.
- Although Argit seems to be one of Vertex's slaves, he was stronger than the Lucubra and Trombipulor, Vertex's other slaves, despite the fact that they are usually stronger than Argit.
